CEO & Co-Founder,
Alpha Biofuels & ComCrop

Allan is a serial entrepreneur and social innovator. He is the co-founder and CEO of Alpha Biofuels, a firm that converts waste cooking oil to biodiesel, and ComCrop, which is Singapore’s first urban community farm located at *SCAPE Youth park.

Allan graduated from NTU in 1999 with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree. Since then, he has embarked on startup projects varying from microbial research to biodegradable plastics. In 2005, he was awarded the Spirit of Enterprise Award by President Mr. S R Nathan for his enterprising spirit and his efforts in promoting the enterprising spirit to the youth. Allan has served as panel judges for [email protected] business plan competition and has mentored youth groups hoping to start enterprises in Singapore.

Fazal bahardeen

Founder & CEO, CrescentRating

Fazal Bahardeen is a thought leader, innovator and entrepreneur in the global Muslim lifestyle & travel sectors. He is the Founder and CEO of CrescentRating, a pioneer in the development of the Halal/Muslim friendly Travel sector. In 2009, he launched the world’s first Rating system to rate travel and tourism services for their Halal/Muslimfriendliness. Crescentrating is now the leading authority on “Halal/Muslim Friendly Travel”. In December 2013, Crescentrating launched HalalTrip.com, a travel-booking platform targeted at the Muslim travellers. It also launched the world’s first mobile applications for in-flight prayer times in 2013.

Fazal completed the Executive Program from Stanford University & National University of Singapore, Strategic Leadership Development Program from Ashridge Management School and International Management in Telecoms Industry from London Business School. He has an International Masters in Management from Management School of Lyon & Alcatel University, in addition to the Masters Degree in Computer Applications and Bachelors Degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the Beijing University of Post and Telecommunications. Fazal also has a Diploma in Islamic Banking and Finance from the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM).
